As a new reader, and as someone who is less familiar with the particulars of how the Electoral College has influence beyond the magic number of 270, I enjoyed the explanation of how abolishing it can benefit democracy and the American public at large. I’m curious as to what (if any) effects that abolishing the Electoral College and focusing more on the Popular Vote instead would have on voting considering some of the various voter suppression activities that have occurred recently.

I would agrue that abolishment could increase voting — as participants in the electoral process will be ensured that one person, one vote is a principle we are actually upholding. Also, thank you for subscribing!
